Right of preemption : what is it ?

It is the fact that a person, (be it physical, moral or public) can acquire by priority a property put up for sale. This priority may be for example for the benefit of a tenant who would receive a holiday for sale or the town hall of the municipality on which the property is located (see D.I.A.)
